The Inspiration
Canoodle Company was inspired by a teeny 1 lb pup named Cannoli. My husband and I decided to take her in during the pandemic when we were both working from home. We wanted to spoil her with all sorts of dog accessories but we continued to run into the same issue: there wasn't a size small enough for her. With no sewing experience whatsoever, but a ton of support from my husband, we bought my first sewing machine from Joanns and I started making Cannoli her own teeny bandanas. Youtube was my best friend then because I had no idea how to operate a sewing machine. As time went on, I became a lot more comfortable and taught myself how to make other things like hair bows, scrunchies, bow ties, and the list goes on. I felt so inspired and fulfilled.
My husband has been my biggest fan, he saw how much I enjoyed making dog accessories, so he encouraged me to open an Etsy shop. I did, and the community support was overwhelming. He handles the business aspect of it and I make and design our products. Canoodle grew very fast and thousands of bandanas later, I am still in love with what I do. My hobby officially turned into my full-time job 2 years after we opened shop. Today, we have sold thousands of handmade bandanas to customers all over the world and continue to expand into boutiques across the country. Because Canoodle has been such a blessing to us, we have made it a priority to make an impact in our community. We partner with organizations that enrich the lives of pets and the people who own them. Each year we identify several organizations or causes, connect with them to determine their needs, then seek to help.
